Bio Diverse

We spend our last day in Panama at the spanking new Biomuseo.

The building is designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry (he of titanium-clad Guggenheim, Bilbao fame). Apparently its supposed to reflect the story of how the Panama isthmus rose from the sea, uniting two continents and separating a vast ocean in two, thereby changing the planet's biodiversity forever.

That’s quite a brief, and we’re not entirely sure he pulls it off, but it’s certainly a colourful and impressive piece of work.

Lots of interesting bits and bobs inside too, including the usual depressing stuff about what mankind is doing to the planet.

Now there’s something to ponder as we increase our carbon footprint on the plane to Ecuador tomorrow.
